Permanent Magnet Types

It is excited to create my first post in blog.My name is Benny from Ningbo Newland Magnet,a professional permanent magnet manufacturer more than 10 years.
So I want to introduce the permanent magnet types to vistors.

It is the strongest magnets in the world.
Neodymium magnet is the strongest magnet type in the world.Because of this type magnet raw material is from rare earth, the cost is a little expensive and can’t be used in a very high temperature environment as SmCo.Nevertheless, its advantages also is very obvious.
It can create a strong magnetic field and owns the highest energy (BH)max in its small size. And now it has replaced other types of magnets in the many applications in modern products that require strong permanent magnets, such as motors in cordless tools, hard disk drives and magnetic fasteners, etc.
Sintered Ferrite Magnets is also called Ceramic Magnets. The biggest advantage is very cheap and economic.
Sintered ferrite magnets are available in isotropic magnets and anisotropic magnets. The magnetic properties of isotropic ferrite are low. Since they have nearly the same magnetic properties in all directions, so isotropic ferrite magnets can be magnetized in many different directions or in multi-poles. Anisotropic ferrite magnets have better magnetic properties compare with isotropic ferrite magnets. However this type of magnets can only be magnetized along a preferred direction.
SmCo magnet is a strong permanent magnet made of an alloy of samarium and cobalt.  Comparing with the NdFeB magnet, SmCo magnet is weaker, but more suitable for working in high temperatures.
SmCo magnets are very anticorrosive and generally does not require electroplating treatment. But the only one disadvantage of SmCo magnet is the expensive cost.
Alnico magnets were developed in the 1930’s and were the first “Real” performance permanent magnets.Alnico is produced by either a sintering method or, more commonly, a casting method.
AlNiCo magnets are very stable and have good corrosion resistance and a typical hardness of 50 Rockwell C.AlNiCo represents the most versatile magnet material available.
The range of properties can be accurately designed for specific applications by changes to element analysis and heat treatment.
